About DIRT DIGGERS

We at Dirt Diggers promote good clean family fun. We encourage new riders to join us on outings and will assist with training and advice on how to face challenging obstacles.

We are a social riding club that caters for Dirt bikes and quads.

We host fun days at our venue aswell as group out-rides to new areas. As a group, we are very concerned with the environmental issues and the impact we have on it. As far as possible, we try to avoid sensitive areas and are already well known by the local communities as the “behaved guys”. Our group leaders wear marshal vests so we can be easily identified and have fortunately never had problems with any local communities. We always slow down, show respect and gratitude while traveling through commonage land.

All members are forced to sign a code of conduct before being accepted and included in our “Social group of riders”. (Please read code of conduct)

We are situated just before the Gonubie Farmers hall. We have already built a 1,4km quad track with jumps, a 640m Enduro-X & quad terrain circuit, junior track and a 12km high impact enduro loop, the enduro loop has A, B and C-stream sections to cater for all levels of riders. Our club caters mainly for the social rider, although many/most of the top riders locally use this loop for fitness training. We consider ourselves and are considered by others to be the stepping stone to official racing. We also encourage riders “once ready” to join ELMC&CC and obtain MSA licenses and offer any/all assistance with regards to this.

We intend to and have already groomed many riders that have since obtained MSA licenses and entered the more official side of riding/racing. Our fun days and outrides are extremely well supported and we already boast the highest membership locally.

Our enduro loop has been set based on the new GNCC style of course and is an extremely well marked single direction loop. Warning signs, A-stream and wrong direction signs have also been erected on certain sections of the loop where riders could possibly get confused.

The Enduro loop has already been approved as a venue for the GNCC national series and would have been used by Elmccc had the event come to light.

We currently host fundays, outrides or product promotions at least once a month and are already well known for our Fright Nite events and the phrase: Grow the sport and have fun doing it!

I have been involved with Motorsport for many years and understand what riders want and have managed to attract a lot of interest already. Since opening in February 2008 we have attracted 198 members. (Almost one per day!!!) We are still growing at a rate of 4 to 5 members a week. My mailing list hits over 800 local bike and quad riders. This is mainly because of the relaxed family atmosphere we have achieved and the constant communication and ongoing development of the tracks/loops.

I am also actively involved with Elmccc and assist with loop setting/marking and assist with every event they host.

We also offer free training for riders. Many of our “Top riders” have offered their time at no charge to train and assist local riders. We have already started this project and intend to run with it through the year. This will be for Children, ladies and novice riders.

Many of our riders have spoken to me about forming a team and competing in all the enduro events next year. (The DIRT DIGGERS RACING TEAM” Sounds good to me!

Our mission is simple: To grow the sport and feed the various disciplines with competitive riders.

DIRT DIGGERS is where it all starts!

The industry needs a stepping stone, DIRT DIGGERS is it!

This is where we have fun, after all. That’s what it’s about.
