Code of conduct 2009 1st

1.) I will respect the rights of all recreationalists to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. I will respect public and private property.

2.) I will park considerately, taking no more space than needed, without blocking other vehicles, and without impeding access to paths or track.

3.) I will keep to the left when meeting another rider.

4.) I will yield the right-of-way to traffic moving uphill.

5.) I will slow down and use caution when approaching or overtaking another.

6.) I will respect designated areas, trail-use signs and established paths.

7.) When stopping I will not block the trail.

8.) I will not disturb wildlife. I will avoid areas posted or designated for the protection of wildlife.

9.) I will pack in everything I pack out, and will not litter.

10.) I realize that my destination objective and travel speed should be determined by my equipment, ability, the terrain, weather, and the traffic on the trail.

11.) I will not interfere with or harass others.

12.) I will exercise throttle control when overtaking other vehicles or passing through villages and or pedestrians.

13.) I will not wear a single/double line rut through drainage structures such as erosion control banks.

14.) I will adhere to the rules and regulations of the track or event organizers.

15.) I will always wear a helmet and all the required safety kit while riding.

16.) I will not consume alcohol in between events/riding as this poses a danger to others aswell as myself.

17.) I will extinguish all/any fires started by myself before leaving the venue.

18.) In case of an emergency, I will volunteer assistance with regards to a rider down.

19.) I recognize that people judge all off road riders by my actions.

20.) I will try and improve the public image in general of all off road riders.

21.) I will ride at walking speed in the pit/parking areas and avoid making excess dust.

22.) I acknowledge that the junior track is out of bounds for adult riders.

23.) I will not leave children unsupervised on the junior track.

24.) I will ensure that all members and riders within my group wear a helmet at all times whilst riding.

25.) I will not ride in/on the new picnic/braai area at the bottom of the track and understand this is a bike free zone.

26.) I am aware that I will be held responsible for the actions of my friends and family members who have accompanied me.

27.) I will not use the tar road as a drag strip or to pop wheelies.

I acknowledge that I have read and understand all the above.

I am also aware that should I choose to ignore any of the above this could lead to my suspension or membership being terminated.
